Shirley-Ann George started the campaign to #FreeMyGrapes after a trip to British Columbia where to her dismay she discovered she was ineligible to join the wine club for one of her favourite wineries, Burrowing Owl Estate Winery. Not due to a lack of available wine, but merely the fact that she was from Ontario, and the Ontario provincial government refused to open up interprovincial trade between provinces for Canadian wine.

From there on sparked a movement that would take root across the country. Throughout our Soundcloud interview with Shirley-Ann we go over the origins of the campaign, as well as the future growth of #FreeMyGrapes.

Thanks for stopping by the grapevine.
