The Time is Right:
MP Dan Albas' Private Members Bill will be tabled during the week of October 2nd. This is a huge step forward for our campaign. It is now up to wine lovers to make sure there are enough votes in the House of Commons to pass this bill.
We expect there to be a vigorous “don’t do it” campaign by the status quo voices. If we don’t speak up, nothing will change.
It is essential that we tell our elected officials to vote for Bill #C-311. Now is the time to listen to voters and let Canadians buy more Canadian wine!
Our electronic petition was Very helpful in drawing attention to our cause. Our thanks to all the wine lovers who signed on. Your help moved the yardstick forward.
Because the tradition-bound Parliamentary process does not permit e-petitions to be tabled in the House of Commons, we've moved to a new format and encourage everyone to sign this new petition.

2) Sign our Petition
We've started a new FreeMyGrapes petition in support of Bill
C-311. This one is a paper version in the format required to be tabled in the House of Commons.
Download the petition (français) sign it (requires hand written signature and address) and mail it back to FreeMyGrapes.ca, 96 Chickasaw Cr, Kanata, ON K2M 1N1. Hopefully, you have friends and family who can also sign up.
We'll collect groups of 25 signatures and have them tabled in the House of Commons by a supportive Member of Parliament.
Here are sample letters/emailsl. Just add the date; politician's name at the top; and your name and address at the bottom of the page. Remember that you don't need to pay postage if you send your MP letter to the House of Commons in Ottawa.

Tip 2: A mailed letter will have the most impact. You can also send the letter by email or call your MP's office to ask them to support the bill.
